ever since i was a little girl, i knew i wanted to be ONLINE

seriously though, as a kid i was obsessed, OBSESSED with MMOs, hell even online games in general, not for any gameplay reason but rather for the simple pleasure of seeing myself, surrounded by other people, all inhabiting the same world, someplace otherworldly, quite literally not of our world but some other place, realms we can only find inside the internet.

i think the hype caused by such a thing being possible is what propelled second life in its infancy, alongside others like it. is that fair to say? and even to this day, such a concept has caused a lot of money being put forward and getting pretty much burned (see "Meta.") needless to say, i think, the power to capture that otherworldly yet homely feeling is something amazing... i feel a lot of my peers think of it as a substitute to real world hanging out but i think of it as its own kind of hanging out. and i love hanging out in every shape it comes.

all this to say, i've been obsessed with second life for years, nowadays even more so now that i've come out of my shell and no longer play it all on my own! this place will mostly be for safekeeping of my virtual memories, maybe a little bit of writing on them now and then, and appreciating the world inside the screen while i still can, while it exists the way it does for however long that'll be!
